Our natural soap bars are handmade in Austria using an artisan cold-press method. This process preserves the properties of raw materials and is the most traditional and sustainable way of producing soaps.
All our soap bars are all-natural, ph-balanced with no artificial perfumes, preservatives or added colors.
As with all our products, we source ingredients and materials locally where possible in order to ensure premium quality and support local producers.

Why we love this product
While we are extremely proud that our soap bars are made by hand following an artisan process while using 100% natural ingredients, there is much more to this one.
Since day 1 we have reached out to test the boundaries of science. That is not only true for our formlations, but also for our packaging materials. Our commitment is to develop the most sustainable home and personal care products out there. Well here’s the thing. Usually, we’d say why we make a certain product or packaging material, but this is different because we grow it.
This packaging material used for our soap bars is made of 100% food waste. Corrrect, leftovers of vegetables or fruits, that’s it. The material is obtained by having a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast fed agricultural waste, forming a sheet of material without the need of sunlight. After use, the nutritious membrane can either be home composted, serving as natural fertilizer, or disposed of with the regular food waste of customers. It can even serve as an edible packaging!
Applied to our solid soap bars, this high performing packaging solution is durable, 100% free of plastic and home compostable. The material serves as an oxygen and a microbial barrier. It is insoluble in water and impermeable to water which makes it a great alternative to plastic-coated paper and plastic foils.
At aer, we will be using this foil on various product lines in order to continue replacing single-use plastic waste in home and personal care. As a result, we are the first brand that truly internalizes a 100% zero waste approach across all our products.
